Advice from any pharmacy technicians out there...?

I'm seeking information on how to become a pharmacy technician. Are you certified? How did you get certified? Did you find a company to hire you entry-level with no certification? Anything I should know or consider? I'm considering a career change, but don't wish to fall for any scams...such as unnecessary schools, certifications, etc. Haven't found a whole lot of useful, detailed information available on the internet. Thanks!!
